How Do You Define Freedom?

Sound Of Freedom: By definition, freedom means the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved. That definition is true, but that doesn’t cover the whole definition. My definition of freedom is the act or power to stand up for what you believe in and speak the right. If you believe in something that may lead to people judging you or punishment, do it anyway.

Freedom can have the power to transform you into something you wouldn’t think of. Not literally, but figuratively. Freedom has the power to build more confidence in you and speak what you want, not letting others control you or your actions.

“Freedom consists not in doing what we like, but having the right to do what we ought”

-Pope John Paul II

This quote speaks perfectly for what I’m trying to say. 1Freedom has the right to let us speak or believe in what you, even if there could be punishments. Freedom is good for the world though. Freedom helps diversity grow around the world. If there was no such thing as freedom, our world wouldn’t be like it is today. Women wouldn’t be doing the jobs they are now if there were no freedom.

Religion would be the same. Everyone would be the same. It wouldn’t be very exciting if there was no freedom. Our world would be black and white, like in the book, The Giver. Freedom makes everyone unique in their way. Therefore, freedom doesn’t just mean to be free from prison, but it means to speak for what you believe in, and not let others control you or your actions.

Allie- I like your reference to “The Giver.” I also really like your definition!
