JAKARTA, Indonesia – Price range airline AirAsia claims its flights to Indonesia’s conservative Aceh province could have only male cabin crew after Acehnese authorities insisted feminine flight attendants don head coverings.
Other airways have claimed they’ll comply and call for female flight attendants to cover their heads on flights to your Shariah-law training province.
AirAsia Indonesia’s corporate secretary Baskoro Adiwiyono said Friday which the airline was ensuring its flights adhere to restrictions.
He suggests, “For the time being, all AirAsia flights from and to Aceh might be operated by male cabin crew.”
Authorities in Aceh on Wednesday circulated a letter with its demand to many airlines.
Nationwide airline Garuda Indonesia and its funds arm Citilink say they “support the strategies.”
