Sunnyvale police shoot man dead after he kills police dog with knife


SUNNYVALE – A stabbing suspect who fatally knifed a police pet was shot and killed by police in Sunnyvale Tuesday afternoon and died inside the clinic.

Police experienced been referred to as to the five hundred block of East Weddell Generate all-around one p.m., in reaction into a reported stabbing, stated Sunnyvale police Capt. Jeff Hunter.

When officers arrived for the multi-unit building, the target was outdoors, suffering from non-life-threatening accidents, Hunter mentioned.

“The suspect was still inside the home,” Hunter stated.

Armed having a knife, the male suspect stabbed a police pet dog, then one of the policemen shot the person, Hunter stated.

The suspect was taken for the hospital, wherever he died from his injuries, Hunter stated. The pet dog also succumbed, he extra.

The stabbing target was handled for the hospital.

Hunter said his section planned to concern a news release Wednesday to fill in details all-around the conditions on the shooting.

“Investigators are nevertheless performing through interviews with officers,” Hunter said. “I’m hoping that tomorrow we’ll have more information.”
